Metal silicon is mainly used in the production of aluminum plants as raw materials for national standard ADC12, non-standard aluminum ingots 102, die cast aluminum, etc. The products have the advantages of no precipitation, fast melting, and can significantly reduce production costs.
Silicon metal can also be widely used in refractory materials and powder metallurgy industries as an excellent antioxidant. Adding metallic silicon to refractory materials can first react with oxygen to form new mineral phase closed pores, increase density, prevent the infiltration of slag and iron, and improve the product's high temperature resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
Therefore, it is widely used in refractory materials such as steelmaking furnaces, kilns, and kiln furniture. In the metallurgical casting industry, metallic silicon is used as a non iron-based alloy additive and a silicon steel alloying agent to improve the hardenability of steel.
