Aluminum Iron Alloy AlFe55 Fe50-60%
Usage
Iron aluminum alloy is another type of soft magnetic alloy with high electromagnetic performance, which is mainly composed of iron and aluminum (6%~16%) and does not contain precious elements. It is also used in micro motors. Commonly used iron aluminum alloys can be cold-rolled or hot-rolled strips with a thickness of 0.1-0.5mm. Its main characteristics are high electrical resistivity and hardness, low density (6.5-7.2 g/m3), good vibration and impact resistance, and its magnetic properties are not as sensitive to stress as iron nickel alloys. The iron core made of iron aluminum alloy sheets has low eddy current loss, light weight, and good resistance to neutron radiation. When the aluminum content exceeds 16%, the iron aluminum alloy becomes brittle, plasticity weakens, and mechanical processing is difficult. An increase in aluminum content also reduces the saturation magnetic induction intensity. Iron cores made of iron aluminum alloys, like iron nickel alloy cores, require final high-temperature annealing treatment to eliminate stress and improve magnetic properties.
