Australian Mandatory SAFETYEMC/RF RCM Certification SAA RCM Registration A Tick/ C Tick
Description
(RCM) is a marking that indicates a product complies with the relevant Australian regulatory requirements. The RCM is a symbol that is affixed to a product to show that it meets the mandatory safety standards, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards, and radio communications standards. The RCM replaced the previous regulatory compliance mark, which was the C-Tick and A-Tick.
RCM certified electrical products are mainly divided into non-regulated and regulated products, because not all products marked with RCM need to be registered. Non-regulated products do not need to be registered. At present, only Level 3 electrical products are required to be registered. There are 56 major categories including power adapters and vacuum cleaners with a high risk factor.
The RCM is required for products that fall under the regulatory control of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS). These products include telecommunications equipment, radio communications equipment, electromagnetic compatibility equipment, and certain types of electrical equipment.
