Communication equipment entering the Egyptian market must obtain NTRA type certification VoC

Certification introduction:

According to relevant regulations promulgated by the Egyptian National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), all communication equipment entering the Egyptian market includes terminal equipment and radio communication equipment, such as: mobile phones, tablet computers, cordless phones, POS machines, gateways, speakers, headsets, Cameras, data processors, etc. all need to obtain NTRA type certification VoC (Verification of Conformity) and PVoC (Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity).

VoC and PVoC certification forms:

Verification of Conformity Certificate of Conformity (VoC):

• RED (wired product EMCD+LVD) test report and certificate based on ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory and has corresponding authorization scope.

• Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity Pre-shipment Inspection (PVoC): After completing the VoC certificate, the authorized laboratory will inspect the goods and issue a PVoC certificate.

NTRA certification includes VoC and PVoC. VoC is based on the CE transfer certificate issued by GroupA laboratory.

• Is it mandatory: Yes

• Regulated products: all telecommunications equipment, all indoor/outdoor, wired/wireless IT communication equipment

• Certificate validity period: VoC has no expiry date, PVoC is valid for each batch

• Local test: mobile phone/call function tablet is required, others are not required

• Local importer: PVoC required

• Inspection: required

• Factory inspection: None

Since December 1, 2017, NTRA has added new product main parameters: RF specifications, CPU model and speed, memory (ROM), RAM capacity, product operating system and its version.

Since January 1, 2018, NTRA has added new PCB verification requirements: PCB layout, PCB components (CPU, antenna, crystal oscillator, IC, etc.).
