General Labeling Requirement - Consumer Protection Law

Law No.67/2006 The Consumer Protection Law Executive Regulations

Egypt
 

Requirement/Limits:

The following information shall be included:
1. Name of the goods
2. Country of origin
3. Name of the producer, or the importer in addition to his/her trade name, address and trademark, if any
4. Production and expiry dates
5. Conditions of distribution and storage
6. Kinds, features, dimensions, weights and ingredients
7. The specifications required under the Egyptian standards, any other law or the executive regulations to the
consumer protection law

Manner of labeling:
1. The information shall be stated in a clear and legible manner
2. The label shall be written at least in Arabic
3. The content shall be written in a way that would be hard to remove
4. The information shall be written on the good itself (if it is not applicable, labels shall be attached to the good or container)
5. No information shall be used that could deceive or confuse the consumer.

NOTE: It is the vendor’s responsibility to meet this requirement.
