Types of PEX tubes

There are three types of PEX tubes: A, B, and C.
A is a fully cross-linked PEX tube, which can withstand high water pressure and high temperature, and is also highly resistant to chemical substances.
B is a partially cross-linked PEX tube. Compared with A, B has slightly lower pressure and melting resistance.
C is a PEX tube without cross-linking, which is not as strong as A and B, but the price is more reasonable.

How to install PEX tube

1.Prepare tools and materials
Tools should include scissors, a water stop valve, heating system clamps and a pair of pliers. PEX tubes are usually sold in pre-cut lengths, and you may also need to source some fittings and accessories, including elbows, tees, valves, etc.

2.Cutting and positioning PEX tube
Use scissors to cut the PEX tube to the length you need, then wrap waterproof tape on the PEX tube to enhance the seal.

3.Connect the PEX tube
Insert the tubing into the fitting and press the clip down on one side to make sure it is firmly gripped. Repeat the previous steps to make sure the pipes are connected correctly.

4.Install the water stop valve
It is very necessary to install water stop valves. This work is mainly in the key areas of the PEX tube water pipe system. Through these areas, the water flow can be controlled at any time to prevent disasters.

Matters needing attention during installation

1.During installation, it is necessary to ensure that the ambient temperature of the PEX tube is not lower than 5°C.
2.After the PEX tube is installed, do not expose it directly to sunlight.
3.It is necessary to ensure that the PEX tube has a certain safe distance from high-temperature objects such as lamps.
4.PEX tube should not be exposed to any organic or other chemical substances.
5.When installing the PEX tube, it is necessary to avoid too tight or too loose connections, and to avoid pressure at the connections.
