Type 316L(S31603), Stainless Steel Coils 316L, Annealed
Type 316L with .03% carbon maximum resembles Type 316 except for its extra-low carbon. Type 316L has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following stress relieving or welding. 316L will become sensitized when exposed to service temperatures of 800°-1650°F. When service conditions require improved corrosion resistance where annealing is not feasible and the welding of thicker sections is needed, Type 316L is favored over Type 316.
