- Drain power steering fluid or catch spillage
- Remove pitman arm from old steering gear (use puller)
- Disconnect steering column universal joint from input shaft
- Disconnect hydraulic lines (pressure and return) and cap lines
- Remove mounting bolts and remove old steering gear
- Compare new gear with old unit for compatibility
- Transfer pitman arm and torque nut to specification
- Install new steering gear and torque mounting bolts
- Reconnect hydraulic lines with new O-rings/seals
- Reconnect steering column universal joint
- Refill power steering fluid and bleed system
- Check for leaks and verify steering operation
- Perform wheel alignment (recommended)
