IMPORTANT: The VG30E V6 uses a hydraulic clutch actuation system. Always bleed the clutch hydraulic system after completing the clutch replacement to ensure proper pedal feel and clutch disengagement.
Installation Steps
- Remove the transmission from the vehicle following Nissan workshop manual procedure
- Remove the clutch cover (pressure plate) and old clutch disc
- Inspect the flywheel surface for scoring, hot spots, or warpage
- Inspect the pilot bearing in the centre of the flywheel
- Inspect the rear main seal for oil leaks
- Clean the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces with brake cleaner
- Install the new clutch disc using a clutch alignment tool
- Install the pressure plate and torque bolts to Nissan specifiion
- Remove the alignment tool and verify disc is centred
- Reinstall the transmission
- Bleed the clutch hydraulic system
- Test the clutch operation
