Spring wire diameter is sometimes shown on product descriptions (not to be confused with spring gauges).
It shows you how thick the wire is for that spring unit. The thicker the spring wire, the firmer the support you will get from it, as it’s harder to compress. The gauge refers to the torsion, push-pull measurement which tells you how resilient/firm a mattress spring is. An example of this is an orthopaedic mattress, which has a gauge of 12 and is very firm.
