What is a Pocket Spring (Pocketed Coil)?
Pocket spring mattress is constructed from hundreds, or even thousands, of individual steel coils. Each coil is sewn into its own separate fabric pocket (sleeve). This allows each spring to move independently of the others.
This is the key difference from traditional Bonnell or Offset Coil systems, where the springs are interconnected wire. When one spring in an interconnected system is compressed, it affects the springs around it.
