This Automatic Cold Applied PE Tape Extrusion Coating Line is engineered for manufacturing cold applied polyethylene anti-corrosion tape used on underground steel pipe, oil and gas transmission pipelines, natural gas distribution networks and municipal buried pipeline systems. It combines PE base film extrusion, corona surface treatment, slot-die adhesive coating, slitting and multi-station rewinding in one PLC-controlled automatic production line, so anti-corrosion tape manufacturers can run continuous, repeatable output with fewer operators and less manual adjustment.
Built around a heavy-duty SJ-75X30 single-screw extruder with a hydraulic screen changer and a type 1000 die head, the line converts HDPE, LDPE and adhesive compounds into a uniform multi-layer cold applied PE tape with consistent peel strength, impact resistance and chemical durability. It delivers 160-200kg/h output at a maximum tape width of 1000mm, giving pipeline tape making factories the throughput for large steel pipe wrapping tape orders.

- PE Base Film Extrusion A vacuum automatic feeder and hopper dryer supply dried HDPE and LDPE to the SJ-75X30 single-screw extruder, where the material is fully melted and plasticized. The melt passes through a hydraulic screen changer and the die head mold (type 1000), then is shaped by multi-roller tape casting. This automated PE tape extrusion stage gives stable base film thickness (0.2-1mm), flat surfaces and strong inter-layer adhesion for underground steel pipe anti-corrosion tape.
- Corona Treatment & Slot-Die Adhesive Coating Before coating, the film passes the integrated 1300mm silicone stick corona processor, which raises surface energy so the hot melt adhesive bonds firmly to the polyethylene. The slot-die coating machine then applies 0.1-0.5mm adhesive evenly on one or both sides, supported by a constant pressure system, force-feed device and 300L adhesive reactor for uninterrupted batches. Magnetic powder brakes and clutches hold web tension steady, producing cold applied PE anti-corrosion tape with void-free bonding and lasting corrosion protection.
- Slitting & Multi-Station Rewinding The coated master roll is slit to the required commercial widths (up to 1000mm) and wound on the multi-station rewinding unit. Finished steel pipe wrapping tape rolls are ready for packaging, container loading and delivery to pipeline contractors and tape distributors worldwide.
