Technical Overview
When operating without load, the generator's armature current is zero (no-load operation). The stator's three-phase winding produces no-load electromotive force E0 (three symmetrical) induced by the excitation current If. The relationship between E0 and If follows the synchronous generator's no-load characteristic curve.
