430 Stainless Steel Sheet Description
Grade 430 is a ferritic, pure chromium, non-hardenable grade with good corrosion resistance and formability as well as practical mechanical properties.
430 stainless steel sheet is a representative grade of ferritic stainless steel, with high chromium and no nickel, and a density of 7.75g/cm3. It is widely used, second only to 304 stainless steel.
430 stainless steel sheet is a general-purpose steel with good corrosion resistance, used for building interior decoration, household appliances, and household appliance parts. The brittle transition temperature is above room temperature, and it is sensitive to notches, so it is not suitable for making load-bearing spare parts below room temperature.
Characteristics and uses of 430 stainless steel sheet
Good corrosion resistance, resistant to general atmosphere and various media corrosion.
Low work hardening rate, easy to bend and form.
Good mechanical properties, high temperature and oxidation resistance up to 816℃.
Through appropriate processing, such as bright annealing and mirror processing, excellent surface appearance and improved corrosion resistance can be obtained.
Poor weldability. Appropriate heat treatment is required before and after welding.
No precious alloys such as nickel and molybdenum are added, which has cost advantages.
