420J2 stainless steel sheet is a martensitic stainless steel

Chemical composition:
The carbon (C) content is 0.26%-0.40%, which can improve the hardness of steel, but too high carbon content will reduce toughness and corrosion resistance.
The silicon (Si) content is ≤1.00%, which can improve the strength and heat resistance of steel.
The manganese (Mn) content is ≤1.00%, which helps to improve the processing performance of steel.
The phosphorus (P) content is ≤0.040%, and the sulfur (S) content is ≤0.030%. Phosphorus and sulfur are harmful elements that will reduce the toughness and corrosion resistance of steel. The lower their content, the better the quality of steel.
The chromium (Cr) content is 12.00-14.00%. Chromium is an important alloying element in stainless steel. It can form a dense oxide film in the air and improve the corrosion resistance of steel.
The nickel (Ni) content is ≤0.60% (can be included)

Features:

Performance characteristics,It has high strength, hardness and hardenability, and has good cutting performance in the annealed state. Its material density is 7.76 grams per cubic centimeter, and its melting point is 1365 degrees Celsius. It has stable anti-oxidation performance below 700 degrees Celsius. At room temperature, it has certain corrosion resistance to dilute nitric acid and weak organic acids.
Processing performance:
It has good cutting performance in the annealed state, but its cold processing performance is poor, and the cold deformation performance of steel is not good.
Poor welding performance. If parts must be welded, heat treatment should be carried out immediately after welding to prevent cracking.
Corrosion resistance: At room temperature, it has certain corrosion resistance to dilute nitric acid and weak organic acids, but the overall corrosion resistance is relatively limited, especially in some harsh environments, it may rust. Its corrosion resistance and thermal stability below 700℃ are lower than those of 1Cr13 and 2Cr13 steels.

Uses:

It is often used to manufacture parts and measuring tools, medical instruments, cutting tools, components, etc. that require corrosion resistance, high strength, and wear resistance, such as plastic molds, screws, valve accessories, food equipment accessories, scalpels, bottle embryos, springs, leaf springs, pins, plastic molds, knives, trowels, spatulas, shafts, etc. It can also be used for springs working below 300℃, shafts working below 400℃, bolts, valves, bearings, etc.
