Plate Heat Exchangers
A plate heat exchanger is a highly efficient device composed of a series of metal plates arranged in a stacked configuration, each featuring specific corrugations. These plates form narrow rectangular channels, facilitating the exchange of heat between fluids. Plate heat exchangers excel in liquid-to-liquid and liquid-to-vapor heat exchange operations.
They offer numerous advantages, including exceptional heat transfer efficiency, minimal thermal losses, compact and lightweight design, small footprint, versatility, and extended service life. In comparison to traditional tube heat exchangers, plate heat exchangers can achieve significantly higher heat transfer coefficients while occupying only a fraction of the space. Moreover, they can attain heat recovery rates exceeding 90%.
The distinct layout of plate heat exchangers promotes efficient heat transfer while minimizing pressure drop. The corrugated plates induce turbulence in the fluid flow, enhancing heat transfer capabilities. Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers, also referred to as removable plate heat exchangers, feature a series of detachable metal plates sealed with gaskets. They are suitable for applications with lower flow rates and significant temperature fluctuations.

Welded Plate Heat Exchangers utilize metal plates directly welded together to create a tightly sealed heat transfer surface. These are ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.

Spiral Plate Heat Exchangers employ a pair of spiral-shaped metal plates to generate multiple channels for fluid separation and heat exchange.

Plate and Frame Heat Exchangers, also known as honeycomb heat exchangers, comprise corrugated metal plates stacked together and enclosed within a frame. Fluid flows through alternating channels between the plates, enabling efficient heat transfer.
