A flexible suspension combination system composed of main cable and stiffened beam with stress characteristics of both cable and beam. Most bridges with spans greater than 1000m utilize suspension bridge structures due to their superior load-bearing capacity.

Key Structural Components
Main Cable
Primary load-bearing component that deforms under load, directly affecting bridge internal force and deformation. Available in two types:
  • Wire Rope Main Cable: 7-strand construction for small span bridges
  • Parallel Wire Bundle Main Cable: Prefabricated parallel steel wire strand (PPWS method) for accelerated construction

Bridge Tower
