Product Description
Cable-Stayed Bridge Structural System

A cable-stayed bridge, also known as a diagonal bridge, features a structural system where the main beam is directly supported by multiple cables anchored to bridge towers. This system consists of three main components: pressurized towers, strained cables, and the bent beam body.

Primary Structural Components
Main Beam Construction
  • Concrete structure, steel-concrete combination structure, or steel structure
  • Beam height typically 1/50 to 1/200 of span length
  • Concrete structures (most common)
  • Steel-concrete combination structures
  • Steel structures
Stay Cables

Constructed from high-strength materials including high-strength steel wire or steel strand, arranged in fan-like patterns extending from towers to bridge deck.

Span Layout Configurations
Twin Tower Three-Span

Ideal for crossing larger rivers with main spans typically exceeding 600 meters.

Single Tower Double-Span

Suitable for small to medium-sized rivers and urban channels with main spans generally under 400 meters.

Single tower double-span cable-stayed bridge configuration
Multi-Tower Multi-Span

Includes three-tower four-span and multi-tower configurations, suitable for spans requiring multiple support points.

Cable Tower Design & Arrangement
Tower Forms
  • Single Column Type: Simple structure suitable for single-plane cable-stayed bridges
  • A-Shape: Enhanced structural stability
  • Inverted Y Type: High stiffness along bridge axis
Different cable tower forms including single column, A-shape, and inverted Y type
Cable Plane Configurations
  • Single Cable Plane: Requires box sections with high torsional stiffness
  • Vertical Double Cable Plane: Resists torque through cable axial forces
  • Diagonal Double Cable Plane: Excellent wind resistance for spans over 600 meters
