- Widely applied to light gauge welding of sealed containers including oil drums, cans, heating radiators, aircraft fuel tanks, rockets, and missiles
- Typically welds single sheets up to 3mm thickness
- Welding seam composed of welding spots
- Available as roll spot welding or air-tight seam welding based on melting core overlap
- Three-stage forming process: pressurization, heating fusing, and cooling crystallization
