DTH Drill Bit Types
Three Main Configurations
- Flat Type: Ideal for hard rock layers and highly corrosive formations under high wind pressure conditions
- Convex Type: Optimized for soft to medium hard rocks with medium to low wind pressure, delivering faster drilling speeds
- Concave Type: Versatile design suitable for all rock layers, particularly effective in medium hard rocks with excellent drilling straightness and efficient slag removal
Carbide Button Designs
Semi-Ballistic Design
Combination design providing increased speed over conventional domed buttons while maintaining higher longevity than aggressive ballistic carbide configurations.
Dome Design
Durable shape engineered for hard, abrasive rock conditions and deep-hole drilling applications. Suitable for nearly all rock drilling operations.
Ballistic Design
Optimal for less-abrasive sedimentary deposits where drilling speed is critical. Not recommended for severely broken ground or extremely hard rock formations.
