DTH Drill Bit Types
DTH Drill Bits are categorized into three main types based on their design and application:
- Flat Type: Engineered for drilling hard rock layers and highly corrosive formations under high wind pressure conditions
- Convex Type: Optimized for soft to medium hard rocks with medium to low wind pressure, delivering fast drilling speeds
- Concave Type: Versatile design suitable for all rock layers, particularly effective in medium hard rocks with excellent drilling straightness and efficient slag removal
Carbide Button Designs
Semi-Ballistic Design
A hybrid design that combines the speed advantages of conventional domed buttons with the longevity benefits of ballistic carbide configurations, offering balanced performance for various drilling conditions.
Dome Design
Rugged shape specifically engineered for hard, abrasive rock formations and deep-hole drilling applications. This versatile design is suitable for nearly all rock drilling scenarios.
Ballistic Design
Ideal for less-abrasive sedimentary deposits where drilling speed is critical. Not recommended for severely broken ground or extremely hard rock conditions.
