A drop cable patch cord is a pre-terminated fiber optic cable used in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks. It connects the external fiber network to a home or building's internal network equipment, such as an Optical Network Terminal (ONT). The cord is designed to be durable enough for outdoor use and flexible enough for indoor routing

Application
Drop cable patch cords are designed for the "last mile" of a fiber optic network, which provides connectivity to end-users.
-FTTH installations: A primary use is connecting a Network Interface Device (NID), typically located on the side of a house, to the ONT inside the home.
-MDU connections: For Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), they bring service from the NID to the ONT within each apartment or unit.
-Network extensions: Users can reroute or extend their existing fiber internet connection for ONT relocation.
-Local network distribution: Used in distribution boxes and fiber boxes within corridors to provide fiber optic service
