Product Description
The Electrocoagulation System is an advanced wastewater treatment solution that utilizes metal hydroxide produced by soluble metal anodes during flocculation to effectively remove contaminants from water. The system typically employs aluminum, iron, or other readily available metals as anode materials.
System Principle
The electrocoagulation process involves three key reactions:
- Electrochemical reaction: Fe→Fe²⁺+2e
- Anodizing reaction: 2OH⁻→2[O]+2e→O₂+2e (nascent oxygen has strong oxidation function)
- Cathode reduction: 2H⁺+2e→2[H]→H₂ (nascent hydrogen breaks bonds, COD, and chromophore functional groups)
These oxidation and reduction reactions occur continuously on the system's plates.
