Anodizing reaction: 2OH⁻→2[O]+2e→O₂+2e (nascent oxygen [O] provides strong oxidation)

Cathode reduction: 2H⁺+2e→2[H]→H₂ (nascent hydrogen breaks chemical bonds)

These continuous oxidation and reduction reactions occur on the electrode plates, effectively treating wastewater by breaking down contaminants.
