DAF System for Wastewater Treatment
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that clarifies wastewaters by removing suspended matter such as oil or solids. The process involves dissolving air in water under pressure and releasing it at atmospheric pressure in a flotation tank, creating microbubbles that adhere to suspended particles and float them to the surface for removal.
Working Process
- Wastewater enters coagulation and flocculation reaction tanks where chemicals (PAC and PAM) form flocs
- Water and dissolved air enter the DAF tank reaction zone
- Microbubbles adhere to flocs, forming particles less dense than water
- Floating scum is scraped to the slag tank
- Clean water is collected and either discharged or recirculated
