Application :
During manufacturing, contamination of food by metal fragments from crushing and processing machinery is a major safety issue in the food industry. Metal detectors for this purpose are widely used and integrated into production lines.
The current practice of clothing or garment factories is to perform metal testing after the garment is fully sewn and before the garment is packaged to check for metal contamination (needles, broken needles, etc.) in the garment. This is required for security reasons.
It is suitable for the detection of metal materials such as clothing, food, and chemicals required on site.

Basic Principles
The basic working principle of the food/industrial metal detector is based on a 3-coil design. This design utilizes an AM transmit coil and two receive coils, one on either side of the transmitter. The design and physical configuration of the receiver coils help detect very small metal contaminants 1 mm or smaller. Today, modern metal detectors continue to utilize this configuration to detect impurity metals.
The coil configuration is such that it creates an opening through which the product (food, plastic, pharmaceuticals, etc.) passes through the coil. This opening or hole allows the product to pass in and out through the three coil system, producing an equal but mirrored signal on the two receiver coils. The resulting signals add together and effectively cancel each other out.
