Since the introduction of SB® electrical connectors in 1953, Anderson Power Products® has led the connector industry in developing DC power connectivity solutions. Based on proven contact technology in SB and Powerpole® connectors, Saf-D-Grid provides the functionality required in 380-400VDC distribution systems. APP develops the AF-D-GRID connector system as a secure device power connector for servers, telecommunications and other equipment (up to 600 VDC). APP AF-D-Grid plugs and sockets connect AC and DC electronics directly to DC microgrids powered by renewable energy or efficient DC sources. The connector meets international safety requirements for hazardous, low-voltage applications, including UL 950 and IEC60950. The size of the Saf-D-Grid is compatible with IEC 320C13 and C14 connection systems. The system is the only UL-rated connector system for current interruptions with loads up to 400 VDC and 30 amps. Af-d-grid can also achieve greater power density by allowing DC or AC power to be disconnected up to 30A and 600V in the same space as IEC320 C13 & C14 systems (typically limited to 10A and 250 VAC). This allows the use of AF-D-Grid in AC systems that require more power, which requires increased power within the existing connector space.
