Features of Carbonless Paper/NCR Paper
Carbonless printing paper, also known as NCR (No Carbon Required) paper, is a specialized type of paper used for creating duplicates of documents without the need for carbon paper.
Carbonless paper is coated with two different types of chemicals: CF or also known as front coating, and CB or back coating. The chemicals are held in tiny capsules that are released when the capsules rupture due to pressure from a pen or printer.
When CF and CB chemicals interact, the CF chemicals darken, causing the image to appear on the CF side of the paper. One obvious way to tell the difference between CF and CB chemicals is that the image only appears on the front side of the paper, so there is no image on the back of any paper. Because this paper produces images without copying, it is called "carbonless paper."
