Features of NCR / Carbonless Copy Paper
Carbonless paper utilizes a specialized microcapsule coating system—CB (Coated Back) and CF (Coated Front)—to transfer written or printed content without the need for carbon sheets. When pressure is applied, the microcapsules burst, and a dye-based reaction occurs on the corresponding sheet, creating a visible duplicate.
This duplication happens on the upper side of the CF layer, making it easy to differentiate from the CB layer, as the reverse side remains blank. Thanks to this unique structure, the paper delivers clean and efficient multi-part documentation—earning its name “carbonless paper.”
