Description of industrial magnetic materials

The magnet is made of ndfeb, the most magnetic material in the world. The material is 10 times stronger than traditional ferrite
magnets.

The table above shows the strength of the magnet. This force is required to tear the magnet off a thick steel surface under ideal
conditions:

The surface is made of pure steel and is at least half the thickness of a magnet.
The magnet touches the surface.
The magnet is pulled perpendicular to (away from) the surface.
There is no clearance between the magnet and the metal surface (eg paint).

Rare earth magnet surface treatment

Despite their metallic appearance, neodymium magnets are actually fragile and can break on impact:
If the magnet is impacted, we recommend using our magnet in the housing. The steel case protects the magnet from impact.
The magnet has three protective layers: nickel, copper and nickel. After the surface treatment is damaged, the magnet will begin
to oxidize and gradually lose strength. If the magnet is impacted or may be severely scratched, we recommend using our magnet in
the housing. The steel case protects the magnet from shock and scratches.
Nickel-copper nickel-surface treatment is not moisture-proof, not suitable for outdoor use. We recommend our waterproof magnets
for outdoor or wet environments.

Neodymium Magnet Industrial Magnetic Material

Neodymium magnets are fragile, sensitive to high temperatures and easily oxidized. When drilling or cutting with the wrong tool,
the magnet may be damaged. Over time, magnets with impaired surface finish may lose some of their strength. Therefore, mechanical
processing of magnets is not recommended. We can meet the special requirements of magnet shape. More information on custom magnet

Conventional neodymium magnets lose some strength when heated above 80°C, sometimes at lower temperatures. If you need high
temperature resistant magnets, please check the high temperature resistant magnet category. Magnets don't mind low temperatures.

Grades of Neodymium Magnet

Neodymium magnets are all graded by the material they are made of. As a very general rule, the higher the grade (the number
following the 'N'), the stronger the magnet. The highest grade of neodymium magnet currently available is N52. Any letter
following the grade refers to the temperature rating of the magnet. If there are no letters following the grade, then the magnet
is standard temperature neodymium. The temperature ratings are standard (no designation) - M - H - SH - UH - EH.

Platings/Coatings

Neodymium magnets are a composition of mostly Neodymium, Iron and Boron. If left exposed to the elements, the iron in the magnet
will rust. To protect the magnet from corrosion and to strengthen the brittle magnet material, it is usually preferable for the
magnet to be coated. There are a variety of options for coatings, but nickel is the most common and usually preferred. Our nickel
plated magnets are actually triple plated with layers of nickel, copper, and nickel again. This triple coating makes our magnets
much more durable than the more common single nickel plated magnets. Some other options for coating are zinc, tin, copper, epoxy,
silver and gold. Our gold plated magnets are actually quadruple plated with nickel, copper, nickel and a top coating of gold.
