The yellow phosphorus smelting furnace, also known as phosphorus production electric furnace, is the core equipment for thermal-process yellow phosphorus production. It adopts a three-phase sealed arc furnace structure, in which phosphate rock, silica and coke undergo reduction reaction at 1300–1500℃ to produce phosphorus vapor, which is then condensed and refined into industrial yellow phosphorus. It is widely used in phosphorus chemical industry, fine chemicals, pesticides, flame retardants, and lithium battery raw materials.
1. Equipment Composition
1.1 Furnace Body System
- Furnace Shell: Made of 16–25mm thick steel plate with stiffening ribs for high rigidity and deformation resistance.
- Furnace Lining: High-alumina bricks/carbon bricks + refractory castable, refractoriness ≥1550℃, with excellent slag corrosion and thermal shock resistance.
- Furnace Roof & Gas Duct: Water-cooled sealed roof with central electrode holes; insulated high-temperature gas duct to prevent condensation and blockage.
- Slag & Iron Tapping: Water-cooled + refractory lining; tapping temperature 1350–1450℃, periodic slag and phosphorus iron removal.
1.2 Electrode System (Core)
- Electrodes: High-purity graphite electrodes, diameter 300–500mm, with good conductivity, high temperature resistance and low consumption.
- Current-conducting Cross Arm: Water-cooled copper alloy, large current capacity, low impedance, stable power supply.
- Electrode Lifting: PLC closed-loop automatic control for precise arc length and temperature regulation.
1.3 Hydraulic Tilting & Tapping Mechanism
- Hydraulic drive, tilting angle 0–45°, smooth operation, easy for slag removal and maintenance.
- Equipped with limit and self-locking devices for safety.
1.4 Electrical Control System
- Phosphorus Furnace Transformer: Capacity 3000–15000kVA, multi-voltage gears (180–450V) for different smelting stages.
- Control Cabinet: PLC + touch screen, integrating temperature control, power regulation, electrode slipping, fault alarm for fully automatic operation.
- Temperature Measurement: Thermocouple + infrared dual measurement, accuracy ±8℃, working temperature 1300–1500℃.
1.5 Auxiliary Systems
- Water Cooling: Forced cooling for shell, roof and cross arm; surface temperature ≤35℃, safe and energy-saving.
- Batching & Feeding: Automatic batching and quantitative feeding for accurate ratio and stable quality.
