1. Product Overview
LRF (Ladle Refining Furnace) is essential secondary refining equipment after electric arc furnace / converter steelmaking. This series covers capacity from 10 tons to 160 tons, fully equipped with PLC centralized automatic control system.
It undertakes molten steel heating, temperature adjustment, desulfurization, deoxidation, alloy fine-tuning, inclusion removal and uniform composition & temperature of liquid steel. Widely matched with EAF, BOF production lines for carbon steel, alloy steel, bearing steel, tool steel, stainless steel and high-quality special steel smelting.
We provide customized turnkey solutions including mechanical structure, hydraulic system, power supply, PLC intelligent control, dust removal and auxiliary supporting devices.
2. Working Principle
The ladle filled with primary molten steel is transported to LRF station via ladle car. Three graphite electrodes descend to strike submerged electric arc above molten steel surface, relying on arc radiant heat to heat molten steel rapidly.
Add slagging agent, deoxidizer and alloy materials through automatic feeding bin; combined with bottom argon blowing stirring, realize full mixing of molten steel:
- Adjust molten steel temperature to target casting range
- Deep desulfurization and removal of oxide inclusions
- Accurately fine-tune all alloy element contents
- Eliminate temperature difference between upper and lower liquid steel
Whole refining process parameters (power, electrode position, argon flow, feeding weight) are automatically collected and controlled by PLC.
