There are two surface treatment mothods for the horse stable:powder coated(black, white or any color you like) and hot dipped galvanized(silver)

HDPE is UV resistant, easy to maintain and does not require staining. It comes in a variety of lengths and colors.
And it is a virtually maintenance free wood for horse stalls. This is not a Composite style wood option like most offer with fillers that decrease the strength of material and decay over time. The pure High Density Polyethylene is completely moisture resistant, easily cleaned and sanitized. It will not crack or splinter, is impervious to insects, rot and bacteria.
