Product Description

Nickel Alloy Forging Bar Hastelloy C276 Construction Field Bridge Tower Structures

Nickle Alloy Forging Bar (Pros & Cons) : Forged Bar Forged bar process takes the best of hot rolled and cold rolled bar and achieves it quickly and efficiently. These bars maintain dimensions and straightness as they cool while having an even higher yield strength because of forgings' unique capability of producing sound-centers during the forging step. The 3:1 minimum reduction helps eliminate any centerline non-consolidation issues that affect bar quality. Unlike the additional step in cold rolling, the extra step of rolling after forging is done while the bar is hot, so there is no time wasted on additional processes after cooling. Forged bar can be used for single or multiple piece requirements and produced on demand. The other significant advantage is for large diameters. The rolled bar is produced to a specific maximum size where the forged bar has a broader span of diameter capabilities.

Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276is a nickel-molybdenum alloy withuniversal corrosion resistance unmatched by any other alloy. C276 is also known as Inconel C276 or Hastelloy C276 and is an improved wrought version of alloy C inthat it usualy doesn't need to be solution heat-treatedafter welding and has vastly improved fabricability. Thisaloy is resistant to the formation of grain boundaryprecipitates, specifically in the weld-heat affected zone. This attribute makes it suitable for use in the as-welded condition. It has excellent resistance to both localizedcorrosion and oxidizing or reducing media. Because of itsversatility, it can be used where corrosive conditions are likely to occur or in multipurpose plants. It's native corrosion resistant properties extendto a wide variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizers such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media(organic and inorganic),chlorine, formic and acetic acids, aceticanhydride, and seawater and brine solutions.

Applications:

  • Air Pollution Control—flue gas desulfurization systems – stack liners, absorbers, ducts, dampers, stack gas re-heaters and fans
  • Chemical Processing—heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, evaporators, piping, flanges and fittings, pumps and valves
  • Oil and Gas Production—sour gas service components
  • Pharmaceutical Production—reactor vessels, piping, flanges and fittings, pumps and valves
  • Pulp and Paper—bleaching vessels and digestors
  • Waste Treatment—incinerators for toxic, industrial and municipal waste
