The thermodynamic disc type steam trap operates on thermodynamic principles, utilizing the distinct flow characteristics of steam and condensate. This robust valve features a single moving disc component that responds to pressure differentials between steam and condensate, automatically opening for drainage and closing to prevent steam loss.
Operating Principle
During startup, pressure lifts the disc allowing condensate and air to discharge through the valve seat. As steam enters, the increased flow velocity creates a pressure drop that closes the disc, preventing steam escape. The system achieves steam blockage and drainage through dynamic pressure changes.
