Standard Cast Iron Globe Valve Flanged Cut Off Valve with DN15-DN600 Port Size and 18 Months Warranty
Cast Steel WCB Flanged Globe Valve for Water, Steam and Oil Pipeline Applications
Globe valves, also known as cut-off valves, belong to the forced sealing valve category. The stem axis of the globe valve is perpendicular to the sealing surface of the valve seat, operating by driving the spool up and down. The opening and closing component is a plug-shaped disc that seals against a plane or cone surface, moving linearly along the center line of the seat.
When the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the disc to force the sealing surface to prevent leakage. When opened, the valve disc opening height is 25% to 30% of the nominal diameter. When flow reaches maximum, the valve is fully open, with the full open position determined by the valve disc stroke.
Globe valves feature relatively short open/close stroke cycles with reliable cut-off functionality. The proportional relationship between valve seat opening and disc stroke makes them ideal for flow regulation in most media flow systems. Available in various configurations to meet the needs of petrochemical, power, metallurgy, urban construction, and chemical industries.

- Simpler structure than gate valves with only one sealing surface on valve body and disc, offering excellent manufacturing technology and easy maintenance
- Small disc travel during full closing process with relatively compact height compared to gate valves
- Small opening height during operation (typically 1/4 of valve seat channel diameter) with reliable cutting action and easy flow regulation
- Extended service life with no contact between seat and disc sealing surfaces in open state, minimizing wear and scratching
- Unidirectional media flow with directional installation requirements and longer structural length than gate valves
- Higher opening/closing torque with challenging rapid operation due to tortuous flow path and significant fluid flow resistance
- When media enters from below valve disc, operational force must overcome stem/packing friction and medium pressure thrust
- Higher closing force than opening force requires larger stem diameter to prevent bending failure
