  S31803 duplex steel is a nitrogen-enhanced duplex stainless steel alloy that comprises 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, and 4.5% nickel along with nitrogen additions. This unique composition offers exceptional properties and performance.

  The yield strength of S31803 duplex steel is remarkable, being twice as high as that of austenitic stainless steel. This significant strength advantage allows for product designers to reduce the weight of their creations, which in turn gives this alloy a cost-effective edge compared to grades like 316L or 317L. Specifically, S31803 is ideally suited for applications within the temperature range of -50 °F to +600 °F. Although it can be considered for use outside this range, there are limitations, particularly when dealing with welded structures.
