KL99 Self-contained SCBA with Carbon Fiber Cylinder
The KL99 SCBA is a compact, positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus engineered for firefighters and industrial operators working in oxygen-depleted or toxic environments. This advanced system seamlessly melds robust safety, dependable performance, and ergonomic comfort to meet the rigorous demands of high-risk operations.
Its full-face mask is crafted from flame-resistant silicone, featuring an anti-fog spherical visor that delivers a wide 91% field of view—ensuring visibility in smoke-filled, low-light, or other adverse conditions.
Airflow is regulated via a demand valve capable of delivering ≥ 500 L/min with minimal breathing resistance. A 360° quick-connect plug enables rapid and secure attachment to the mask.
The backplate harness combines ergonomic design with flame-retardant KEVLAR or Nomex straps and belt, distributing weight evenly to enhance wearer comfort. The backplate itself is made from durable, lightweight materials (such as flame-resistant engineering plastics and carbon fiber), weighing approximately 0.68 kg.
The pressure reducer delivers a stable, high-capacity airflow exceeding 1,000 L/min—designed for high-intensity exertion during emergency response.
Safety is enhanced with a luminous, shock- and water-resistant pressure gauge and a loud (≥ 90 dB) audible alarm that activates when cylinder pressure falls below ~5.5 MPa.
The apparatus supports carbon fiber composite cylinders in multiple capacities (2L to 12L), balancing lightweight construction with extended service time.
