A pressure differential drives the membrane separation process known as reverse osmosis. The semi-permeable membrane's selective retention effect filters out different molecules in water. It uses a semi-permeable membrane that lets only water through but not other substances to separate solutes from solvents in a solution at pressures greater than the solution's osmotic pressure. How it Works
- The reverse osmosis technique creates clean water on the low pressure side by forcing the water molecules to flow through the membrane in the other direction by applying pressure greater than the natural osmotic pressure.
- The fundamental part of a reverse osmosis system is the membrane. Because of its 0.0001 micron hole size, which guarantees that only water molecules and solvents smaller than this size pass through, these membranes efficiently block dissolved salts, particulate debris, and organic pollutants. In addition to the prevention of bacteria, fungus, viruses, and chemical ions outside the membrane, wastewater is evacuated.
