Prefilled baskets are available upon special request, though we recommend in-situ filling whenever possible for optimal performance.
Wire Coating Options & Durability
Our gabion baskets feature multiple wire coating options to suit various environmental conditions:
- HDG (Hot Dip Galvanized): Standard corrosion protection
- Alu-Zinc (95% Zn + 5% Al): Lasts 3-4 times longer than standard galvanized coatings under similar conditions
- PVC Coated: Design life expectancy up to 120 years, ideal for coastal areas, river applications, and corrosive environments
Standard wire diameter is 2.7mm, with 2.0mm and 2.4mm options available for specific mesh configurations. PVC coating minimum thickness is 0.5mm.
