The screw elements within the plastic pelletizing machine are crucial for the plastic processing procedure. Selecting the appropriate type and material of screw elements ensures efficient and stable operation of the machine, resulting in the production of high-quality plastic pellets.

The main parameters of the screw element - lead/pitch

1.Wide pitch elements are typically used in the inlet and outlet sections of extruders.

2.Narrow pitch elements are employed where material compression or complete filling with filler is necessary.

3.Increasing the pitch reduces residence time and filling degree, narrows residence time distribution, increases drag flow, and enhances pressure sensitivity. It also accelerates the speed at which the material is conveyed by the towed stream. However, wide pitch elements are less effective in generating the pressure needed to overcome flow channel constraints. Nevertheless, within normal pressure ranges, their pumping capacity exceeds that of narrow pitch elements.
