It is a single-screw compounding extruder with coexisting rotation and reciprocating pulses. Its elements adopt multi-head kneading screws and pins for mixing and kneading. A notable feature is the Buss type screw element, which enhances the kneading process. Nowadays, the barrel pins are divided into two kinds, three rows and four rows. The new model is named COMPEO (the screw can be divided into 2-6, and it is more flexible for processing). In short, its shear force is relatively weak, and the mixing effect is not as intensive as that of the two flighted screw element, but with the inclusion of the Buss type screw element, it offers improved efficiency and is worth looking forward to.
