Installing a Car Oil Filter:

Preparation: Park car on flat ground, engine cold. Gather tools: oil filter wrench, drain pan, new filter.

Oil Drain: Position drain pan under oil pan, remove drain plug, let oil drain completely.

Remove Old Filter: Locate oil filter, use wrench to loosen and remove. Clean filter mounting surface.

Install New Filter: Coat filter O-ring with new oil, place filter on mounting surface, hand-tighten, then turn an additional quarter-turn.

Refill Oil: Replace drain plug, refill engine with recommended oil type and quantity.

Check for Leaks: Start engine, check for oil leaks.
