Road Markings Retroreflectometer for Rainy Night and Nighttime with Open Optical Path
 

Marking Line retroflectometer (rainy night version) is a portable on-site measuring instrument with an open optical path, used to measure the retroreflection brightness coefficient of the line. (Unit: mcd/(㎡.lx). The main characteristic of its research is to simulate a motor vehicle driving on a highway at night, and the brightness of the markings (made of retroreflective materials)illuminated by the headlights on the road surface is observed by the driver in the cab after reflection. The measured parameter is the nighttime retroreflective brightness coefficient, RL vaule. This instrument can measure the backscatter brightness coefficient of the marking under three conditions: RL dry, RL wet, and RL continuous rainfall. To support the Qd measurement mode, the Qd component needs to be selected.

Operation panel and basic operations

● The on/off key

● is used to turn the instrument on/off.

● When turning on the instrument, press this key for 5-6 seconds, the display will light up, and there will be a beep sound, and the instrument will turn on;

● when turning off the instrument, press this key to turn off the instrument.

● Note: When the instrument is turned off, it can be charged through the standard charger.

● The detection button

● is used to trigger operations during measurement.

   Press this key and the instrument starts testing.

● The display screen

● is used to display various status and data information when the instrument is working. It can also perform system settings, measurement calibration, and record transmission of the instrument.

● USB interface

● connects the instrument and the computer to transmit data information to each other through the USB interface.

● The charging jack

● is used to charge the instrument.

【Notice】

(1) The instrument uses advanced optical filters to achieve Vλ spectrum correction.

(2) The optical system of the instrument is open. External light will enter the instrument normally, but it will not affect the normal measurement in progress.

(3) The light leakage, light drift and offset error of the instrument are compensated based on the data obtained by the calibration procedure. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on ensuring that the calibration plate is clean and calibrated regularly.
