The resultant product has an exceptionally uniform thickness, in addition to the smooth and matte appearance, similar to the cold-rolled sheet. The surface quality makes it ideal for applications that require a high finish after painting, like in automotive exposed panels. Furthermore, the great control over coating thickness achieved with the electrolytic deposition process makes it ideal for improving forming and joining operations, particularly to get reliable results from automatic and robotic welding systems. Electro-galvanized coils are also readily paintable.
