Sodium Acetate Properties
Chemical Properties

- Structure: Composed of the radical acetate ion (CH₃COO⁻) and sodium ion (Na +)

- Appearance: Anhydrous sodium acetate: white crystalline powder. Sodium acetate trihydrate (CH₃COONa*3H₂O): colorless transparent crystal
- Solubility: Soluble in water, solubility increases significantly with temperature (at 20°C, about 46.5 g per 100 mL of water). Slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble
- Melting point: Anhydrous sodium acetate: 324°C. Sodium acetate trihydrate: 58°C (dehydration decomposition)
