Air Suspension Spring Introduction
1. Relieve the hydraulic chamber volume change caused by the movement of the inner rod!
It is easy to understand that although the inner rod is relatively thin, the liquid cannot be compressed. Even a slight decrease in the volume of the inner cavity after the inner rod is pressed in is enough to generate high pressure, which is a leakage of shock absorber oil! The shock absorption of general civilian vehicles is achieved by not filling the hydraulic chamber and retaining a portion of gas to adapt to this volume change. However, when the shock absorber moves violently, the gas may cause the hydraulic oil to produce bubbles, which can cause vibration and instability when the bubbles pass through the piston! If an airbag is used, it can not only alleviate the volume change by contracting, but also separate the oil and gas, avoiding the formation of bubbles in the shock-absorbing oil and affecting the shock-absorbing effect!
2. The air defense function enables hydraulic damping to work better!
If there are no airbags, when the shock absorber is rapidly compressed, the space under the piston is likely to create a vacuum. When the shock absorber rebounds, the part of the stroke where the vacuum is generated is undamped, which affects the shock absorption effect. This area is called "empty stroke". This situation is not very relevant in civilian cars, but it is a big problem when used in racing cars where shock absorbers require high-speed and intense exercise! And airbag shock absorption is achieved by injecting high-pressure gas, which greatly increases the pressure in the hydraulic chamber, effectively avoiding the "empty stroke" caused by vacuum at the lower end of the piston during shock absorption compression, thus improving the shock absorption effect!
