How to distinguish the advantages and disadvantages of shock absorbers
Shock absorbers are vulnerable components in the use of automobiles. The performance of shock absorbers directly affects the smoothness of vehicle operation and the lifespan of other components. Therefore, shock absorbers should be kept in good working condition regularly. The following methods can be used to verify the proper functioning of shock absorbers:
1. After driving the car on a road with poor conditions for 10 kilometers, stop and touch the shock absorber shell with your hand. If it is not hot enough, it means that there is no resistance inside the shock absorber and it is not working.
2. Press down firmly on the bumper and then release it. If the car jumps 2-3 times, it indicates that the shock absorber is working properly.
When the car is driving slowly and emergency braking occurs, if the car vibrates violently, it indicates that there is a problem with the shock absorber.
4. Remove the shock absorber and stand it upright, clamp the lower connecting ring onto the vise, and apply force to pull and press the shock absorber rod several times. At this point, there should be stable resistance, and the resistance to pulling it up and restoring it should be greater than the resistance to pressing it down. If the resistance is unstable or there is no resistance, it may be due to a lack of oil inside the shock absorber or damaged valve parts, which should be repaired or replaced.
