 Power cables can be divided into:

And cable faults can be divided into open circuit faults, low resistance faults, leakage high resistance faults, and flashover high resistance faults according to their nature.

How to judge cable faults

In general, there are three ways to judge the nature of cable faults:

●Judge by insulation resistance meter, multi-meter. 

●Judge by cable pre-test results. 

●Judge by "cable fault tester". Low-resistance and open-circuit faults (high-resistance) can be directly judged by the "low-voltage pulse method" test waveform of a multi-meter or a "cable fault tester".
