Working Principle

The air pump compresses air by driving a piston or diaphragm with a motor, and pumps the filtered outside air into the air tank or directly into the air spring. The control system (ECU) adjusts the start and stop of the air pump and the amount of air charged based on the signals from sensors (such as body height sensors and acceleration sensors), to achieve the dynamic response of the suspension system.

Core Functions

Air pressure control: Automatically or manually adjust the air pressure of the air spring according to the vehicle load and driving mode (such as comfort, sports, off-road), and change the suspension stiffness and height.
Height adaptation: Lower the height of the vehicle body to reduce wind resistance when driving at high speed, and raise the body to improve passability when driving off-road; automatically replenish air pressure when the vehicle is loaded to prevent the body from sinking.
Shock absorption optimization: By adjusting the air pressure in real time, it can alleviate road bumps, improve driving comfort, and reduce body roll and brake nodding.
Fault compensation: When there is a slight leak in the air suspension system, the air pump can temporarily replenish pressure to maintain the system operation (need to be repaired in time).
